UNYIELDING DETERMINATION

Rebecca Ursule

UNYIELDING DETERMINATION

Though I come from a very poor background,

I will make it, work hard, even in dreams.

They say the sky's the limit to be found,

I'll reach for it, no matter how it seems.

Even if days pass without food to eat,

And others think I'm dirty and unclean,

Still, in life's race, I won't accept defeat,

I'll strive with hope and keep my spirit keen.

When all declare I'm not of any worth,

I'll trust myself, work hard, both night and day,

In slumber too, I'll prove my inner strength,

Until success and I have found our way.

It's not because of laziness or vice,

But lack of chances—yet I'll pay the price.
